Morongo tribal vice chairwoman Luanne Martin and tribal council Anne Hutton join American Red Cross (ARC) chief executive officer Pam Anderson, board chairwoman Deborah Hill and board member Erin Fuller for presentation of Morongo's donation of $25,000 to the Riverside chapter of the ARC. The donation is the largest in the Riverside chapter's history.

On September 11th, The Morongo Band of of Mission Indians made immediate contact with their local Red Cross Chapter and ask what was needed to help.

The call resulted in the Tribe's $25,000 donation to the American Red Cross Chapter (ARC) of Riverside County, California.

One day after the tragedy, Morongo Vice Chairwoman Luanne Martin and Morongo Tribal Council Anne Hutton presented a $25,000 donation to American Red Cross CEO Pam Anderson, ARC Board Chair Deborah Hill, and Erin Fuller, ARC Board member. The donation, the largest in the Riverside chapter's history, provided ARC the means to send emergency workers to help at the Word Trade Center attack site.

Red Cross CEO Pam Anderson said, "We are all so very moved by the tribe's incredible generosity. Morongo's gift will help many, many people affected in this national tragedy."

Morongo tribal vice chairwoman Luanne Martin noted: "Like the rest of the world, all of us at Morongo were shocked and dismayed by the horrific terrorist attacks leveled at New York and Washington. The thoughts and prayers of our members across the country go out to the victims, the survivors and their families. When such tragedy strikes, we can all help."

Morongo also began immediate work to organize a blood drive for tribal members, employees and neighbors with local blood bank officials.
