Wanda Lord, Cherokee/Choctaw began ThreeHoops.com in 2001. 

In 2002, webdesigner Chris Coddington of DataCoordinator assisted the work. 

Since our beginnings, the content at ThreeHoops has come from direct submissions from

• Tribal Nations,
• Native American Nonprofits,
• American Indian/Alaska Native owned businesses,
• Native and nonNative members
• visitors,
• our own research.

In 2004, ThreeHoops facilitated nearly $100,000.00 in in-kind donations to Native American community based efforts and Native owned businesses and began developing our Native American Advisors Board..

From 2005 onward our Native American Advisors Board continued to provide guidance to our efforts as we passed one million hits annually while serving tens of thousands of visitors. 

At present ThreeHoops.com averages over a million hits each year and we serve an average of 60,000 visitors.

ThreeHoops' Research

ThreeHoops Research is focused toward increasing revenues and assets to Tribal public purpose programs.

Our research, and that of others, has shown that very little grantmaking or individual donations reach Tribal Nation initiatives, or reach directly to Native American nonprofits that are based in the Native communities they serve.

In 2002 the percentage was probably less than 1/20 of 1% of national grantmaking.  At present the % directly reaching Tribal Nations and their peoples still represents pennies on the dollars that most other community based efforts receive.

We always encourage our members and visitors to consider donating directly to Tribal Nation initiatives to provide the most direct benefit to Native American people.
